Agartala: Fed up with the drunken orgy and regular beating by the husband an irate wife last night hacked her tyrant husband with a sharp-cutting matchet. Police sources from Dharma Nagar said that the bizarre incident took place in ward no-5 of Uttar Ganga Nagar under Dharma Nagar police station of north Tripura.

Sources said that the drunkard husband Raju Gour (38), a day labourer by profession, had been in the habit of coming back home drunken every night and beating up his wife Maya Gour (35) .

On last Monday night also Raju Gour stuck to his routine of beating up his wife in drunken orgy but last night the tortured wife Maya Gour had lost all patience and she struck back by hacking her miscreant husband on head, neck ,shoulder etc and critically injured her.

After being informed by neighbours police shifted injured Raju Gour to Dharma Nagar hospital from where he was referred to GBP hospital , Agartala. His condition is stated to be critical . However, police sources said that May Gour has been detained but not arrested formally.
