Diphu :  A woman was hacked to death in Sam Taro village on March 31by her neighbor following a dispute over land. The place of incident is under Dokmoka police station located in the eastern part of Karbi Anglong. Police have arrested the murderer after the incident.

According to police the incident took place around 9:30 am; after some heated argument, accused Babu Ronghang, assaulted the victim Joya Ronghangpi with a sharp machete and hacked her to death instantly.  Joya Ronghangpi is the wife of Tarun Taro. After the occurrence Joya Ronghangpi was rushed to Dokmoka Primary Health Centre but she succumbed to her injury  after reaching hospital. Joya Ronghangpi has left behind her husband and a three-year old son
