The breaking of the old suspension bridge over the over Irang river on NH-37 which connects Manipur from South Assam had completely cut off the 2^nd lifeline of Manipur. A new suspension bridge is in place now.

Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren singh in a tweet had sated that hardship suffered by the people of Manipur because of the breaking down of old suspension bridge over Irang river on NH-37 will be a thing of past soon as a new RCC bridge will be constructed there.

He thanked PM Narendra Modi and Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari for taking care of this lifeline.
