Manipur being a dry state, Police in its continuous drive against drug and alcohol, busted a spurious liquor manufacturing unit in Thoubal district of the state. 

The accused involved in the activity was apprehended by Thoubal district police, led by it’s superintendent, Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh. 

Altogether 126 bottles of 750 ml, labelled as OLD MONK XXX RUM, 873 of 750 ml nempty bottles marked as OLD MONK XXX RUM, 473 bottle caps, 30 numbers of stickers marked as OLD MONK XXX RUM, 6 numbers of jerry cane having 20 litres of spirit (unknown chemical used for manufacturing liquor), one bottle cap sealing machine were seized by the police.
