Lungambou Abonmai, of 10 Assam Regiment, from Ariang Khunkhu village, Kangpokpi, Manipur was martyred in an encounter with the terrorist in Poonch, J&K. He left behind his wife & son.

Pakistan Army resorted to an unprovoked ceasefire violation on the line of control (LoC) in Poonch Sector on 13 June 2020. Indian troops responded strongly to the enemy fire. In the incident, Sepoy Lungambui Abonmei was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries.

Sepoy Lungambui Abonmei was a brave, highly motivated and sincere soldier. The nation will always remain indebted to him for his supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty.
