The festival of sacrifice, Id-Ul-Zuha or Bakri Id is to be celebrated on 1st August 2020. However, the present situation of the spread of COVID-19 infection in the State is worrying and warrants a reduction of an intermingling of people to the barest minimum.

Gathering/Congregation of people is to be avoided at all cost. The State Government has imposed lockdown and curfew and has also not allowed entry of the public to any religious place. Therefore, all Muslims/followers of Islam and other residents of the State are requested to celebrate Id-Ul-Zuha by offering prayers at their homes and shares the joys of the festival without coming out from their homes.

This was stated in a release by H. Gyan Prakash, Special Secretary (Home), Govt. of Manipur
