The restriction will not be enforced on Sundays.
Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Rothihu Tetso has notified the following traffic regulations for non-essential vehicular movement within Dimapur Town and NH-29 till Chumukedima town with effect from 5th October 2020 till 31st October 2020.
Odd number day:
On every Monday, Wednesday and Friday only vehicle with registration number ending with odd numbers (1,3,5,7&9) will be allowed to ply.
Even number day:
On every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers (2,4,6,8 & 0) will be allowed to ply.
The restriction will not be enforced on Sundays.
- The category under essential services as notified earlier will be exempted. Further Government servants on bonafide government duties and vehicles involved in providing essential services involved in COVID-19 related duties will also be exempted from the purview of the restrictions on the production of relevant documents and valid ID proof. Two-wheelers shall also be exempted from these traffic restrictions.
- All heavy vehicles except those engaged in four-lane construction work with a valid permit will be restricted from plying within the town area and highway area from 09hrs to 15 hrs. Violation of the aforementioned order will be penalized U/S 177 & 179 of the MV Act 1988.
Commissioner also appealed all citizens for cooperation in the interest of public safety.
