The 17th International Guwahati Film Festival will be dedicated to the eminent film and drama personality and Honorary Member of the Guwahati Cine Club Late Shri Kulada Kumar Bhattacharjee
The Gauhati Cine Club, established in 1965 is organizing the 17th International Guwahati Film Festival 2024 from 11th to 16th December at the Auditorium of the District Library, Guwahati. There will be 18 feature films from different countries of the world namely the United States of America, Canada, France, Germany, Kazakhstan and Brazil and Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Garo and Assamese language films from India. The internationally acclaimed film Rapture directed by Dominic Sangma in the Garo language will be the inaugural film. Rapture premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
Mojoli, a film directed by Nabajyoti Bora will be premiered during the Festival. Another film in Assamese language Eti Tomar directed by Parvez Ahmed will also be screened.
The 17th International Guwahati Film Festival will be dedicated to the eminent film and drama personality and Honorary Member of the Guwahati Cine Club Late Shri Kulada Kumar Bhattacharjee. In his honour, we will screen Diksou Banat Polaxh, a National Award-winning film directed by Sanjib Sabhapandit.
The festival will be held in association with the Federation of Film Societies of India, Eastern Region; World Film Festival, Kolkata; Cine Central; Film Critic Guild, Alliance Francaise du Bengale and directors and producers of films.
Film Critic Guild, India’s first registered association of film critics has been collaborating with us and we will screen their award-winning films.
We are arranging Delegate Cards which are available online at www.townscript.com and offline cards are available at the office of the Gauhati Cine Club at the Panbazar office.
