Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports on his visit to Ymunagar had commented that this old 3rd Century BC heritage site needs to be protected.

He said ‘I assured the people of Yamunanagar that I’ll discuss with my colleague Minister of Culture & Tourism Prahlad Patel ji to revamp these amazing treasures. Besides our monumental heritage it will become a tourism hub, especially every Buddhist would wish to come once in lifetime.

‘Unbelievable rich Indian heritage! Chaneti Buddhist Stupa in Haryana is a 3rd century BC Buddhist monument bulit by Emperor Ashoka. The stupa is located in the Yamunagar dist of Haryana which has been nicely referred by traveller Hiuen Tsang (Xuan Zang), echoed Rijiju.
