(AHPI) – Manipur Chapter eligible media professionals to apply and join in this mission to elevate healthcare reporting standards in North East India
The Association of Healthcare Providers (AHPI) – Manipur Chapter announced the launch of its first AHPI Medical Media Fellowship, an innovative two-month training program designed to enhance media professionals’ understanding of the challenges and satisfaction of delivering quality healthcare in the state of Manipur scheduled from 1st December 2024, through 31st January 2025.
This fellowship offers a unique opportunity for four selected candidates, including two from print media and one unit from electronic media (comprising a cameraman and a reporter), to deepen their expertise in covering medical and healthcare topics.
This Medical Media Fellowship is tailored for experienced journalists under 40 with at least five years of experience, preferably with a background in medical reporting. This immersive program, spanning four hours each day, will cover a well-rounded curriculum wherein participants will benefit from a wide array of healthcare topics, but not limited to:
· The evolution of medical science in Manipur.
· Healthcare economics and medical tourism.
· State-of-the-art medical technology and operation theatre innovations.
· Status of critical care services in our hospitals.
· Biomedical waste management.
· Exploring medicolegal issues, health insurance, and public-private partnerships in healthcare.
· Understanding the impact of climate change in human health.
· Patient-doctor relationship dynamics, spiritual healing, and quality assurance practices.
· Cancer awareness, visiting other hospitals, and insights into the positive health concept.
Application Timeline:
· Application Deadline : 25th November, 2024
· Scrutiny of Submissions : 28th November, 2024
· Result Announcement : 28th November, 2024
· The course will conclude with a certification ceremony at the AHPICON NE II Conclave on February 15, 2025, at the City Convention Centre, Imphal East. for all participants who complete the program.
Interested journalists must submit their applications, at
Acme Fertility and Healthcare Centre. Prospective fellows must include:
1. A copy of their professional journalist registration certificate.
2. Proof of at least five years of experience post-registration.
3. Any prior fellowship experience (if applicable).
4. A list of healthcare-related articles they have previously published, with links if available.
5. Information about their current media affiliation (newspaper, TV, or radio).
