The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has always been committed to its social responsibilities along with its primary objective of maintaining Internal Security. The Counter Insurgency And Anti Terrorism School (CIATS), CRPF, Silchar, one of the premier institute of CRPF has organized a plantation drive in and around the campus w.e.f. 15th May 2020 under the supervision of Principal, CIAT School Brig G S Reddy, SM (Retd), Chief Training Officer M Mohan, Commandant, Officers, and staff of the institute.
In this drive, approximately thirty two thousand varieties of saplings will be planted during this monsoon in three phases.
Speaking on the occasion Brig G S Reddy, SM (Retd), emphasized the importance of tree plantation for the community and this initiative will go a long way in inculcating awareness among the public about environment conservation. These trees are an investment for the future generations that shall provide natural shade in open spaces and provide cleaner air to breathe by increasing green cover.
He said the health of the environment is as important as the health of the individual. He also thanked Sunny Deo Choudhary, DFO, Cachar for providing these saplings and Sushmita Dam, BDO, Udharbond for her support to make this drive successful.
