A book release function has been organized today at Gauranagar Sanskrit Veda Vidyalaya, Gauranagar, Hojai. In this function, the Manipuri Version of Srimad Bhagavad Gita and Mahakavi Kalidas both written by Renuka Devi Sastri published by Assam Manipuri Sahitya Parishad and Hojai Sahitya Sabha respectively have been released today by Pandit Khelemba Sastri, Padmakanta Nath, Laishom Gulap, Anup Kumar Borthakur, Tensubam Manihar, Pukhrabam Kamini and many eminent literary personalities and scholars of the state of Assam attended the function.

It is opined that the Manipuri version of the Bhagawat Geeta will help the Manipuri readers to understand the philosophy of the great Srimad Bhagavad Gita and to inspire the readers to follow the path of Dharma and truth. Another book Mahakavi Kalidasa is written in Assamese has been appreciated by the scholars as an important contribution to the children’s literature.
