A gang of 25 members of heavily armed dacoits barged into a house and looted with Rs 16 lakh in cash along with gold jewellery
Loot, dacoity, snatching nowadays is very common in the valley, mainly Cachar has become a haven for these burglars. Every other day an incident of snatching in the broad daylight and dacoity in the wee hours are actively taking place without been caught.
Another incident of dacoity took place at Pangram, Udharbond constituency of Cachar District on Friday. A gang of 25 members of heavily armed dacoits barged into a house and looted with Rs 16 lakh in cash along with gold jewellery.
A group of 25 armed robbers looted the house of Enammul Haque Lashkar, a panchayat representative and a contractor of PWD, at gunpoint late at night around 1 AM on Friday. The robbers attacked all the occupants of the house and fired one round inside the house. The notorious robbery has caused a stir in the area.
Jagdish Das, Additional Superintendent of Police, Cachar, rushed to the spot on hearing of the incident. Understanding the situation, he said that the police have already started an investigation into all these incidents and assured that all those involved in the robbery would be arrested soon.
But questions in the citizen’s mind and fear is ever prevailing, cause till date these burglars are out of Police’s catch. When can these burglars be seen inside bar? Will it be ever possible to nab them? Will the common man move safely in the road with their belongings and stay safe at their own home. Many snatching incidents in Silchar town has been reported past few weeks. Incidents direct to a pattern where those people are targeted who have withdrawn a large amount of money from the bank.
Earlier last month a delegation from Cachar district Congress led by All India Mahila Congress President and former Silchar MP Sushmita Dev went to meet SP Cachar regarding law and order situation in the district.
