935 patients attended the camp
With a view to providing specialized service at the doorstep of people, a Health Mela has been organized at Didarkush Suresh Sahu High School at Bhuvan Valley Tea-Garden.
Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli inaugurated the multi-speciality Health Mela in presence of Dr. S. J. Das, Joint Director of Health Services and various other doctors and officials of the Health Department on Thursday.
While speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli said, “there are instances that people of Bhuvan Valley area showed reluctance to visit a health facility. Even severely anaemic patients are reluctant to receive blood transfusion at Silchar Medical College. Keeping in view, Doctors of Gynaecology, Child, Skin, Eye, ENT, Dental, Psychiatry, Medicine have been invited. Pathological tests and ECG facilities are also included”.
Jalli has also emphasised proper Health seeking behaviour of the community for the prevention of the disease and urged the students to maintain proper hygiene practices.
It is pertinent to mention here that a total of 935 patients attended the camp. The doctors who attended are Dr. S. K. Roy (Paediatrician), Dr. Nazreen Momtaz Borbhuiya (Gynaecologist), Dr. Sandip Roy (Dermatologist), Dr. Prasenjit Ghose (psychiatrist), Dr. Debashubra Kundu (dentist), Dr. Prabha Sindhuraj (eye specialist), Dr. Juri Sarmah (ENT), Dr. Debotosh Sen Purkayastha (Diabetologist) and several others.
