The book on Rabindranath Tagore’s and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s visits to Shillong,  “Their Footprints Our Pride” by Malabika Bisharad of Shillong was released by the Governor of Meghalaya Satya Pal Malik on Tuesday at RajBhawan Shillong

The book contains ten chapters which contain brief histories on National Anthem, Tagore’s three respective visits to Shillong, Netaji’s 5 respective visits to Shillong, translation works of Tagore’s few poems including “Shillonger Chitti”. Past and present photographs of the heritage sites and their present condition.

This is the second book by Malabika after “Rabindranath Abong Shailabash Shillong” (Rabindranath and Hill Resort Shillong) which was published on 6th May 2011 by the then  Governor of Meghalaya R.S Mooshahary at Brookside Rilbong Shillong during the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.

The book “Their Footprints Our Pride” is dedicated to the Nation on its 75years of Independence and to the author’s home State Meghalaya on its 50 years of Statehood.

In this book, the author has corrected many wrongs which were believed to be ‘correct information’ till now. ‘I wish this book will help extensively to the students, and readers’, Malabika said.

The book cost Rs.300 and has been printed in Donbosco Printing press Laitumkhrah and published by Ramendra Bisharad of Rilbong Shillong Meghalaya
