The work of the Central Institute of Technology (CIT) Kokrajhar aligns perfectly with the vision of a Smart, Peaceful and Green Bodo Territorial Region. By focusing on sustainable development, environmental Conservation and community harmony, CIT Kokrajhar can actively contribute to the creation of a region that is not only technologically advanced but also mindful of its natural resources and its people, echoed Pramod Boro, Chief Executive Member of Bodo Territorial Council & president, CIT Kokrajha Society BTR Assam in his address in the 3rd Convocation of the institute held on Friday at the Bodofa cultural Complex Auditorium, Kokrajhar.

He further stated that CIT Kokrajhar can solidify its role as a regional knowledge hub by bridging the access to technological divide; providing leadership in preparing a sound Economic and industrial policy; offering vocational training to school students; helping them develop practical skills from an early age; providing professional development programs for school teachers, empowering them to guide future generations; creating learning material in local languages; preserving and promoting Indigenous knowledge, language and culture, thus fostering a sense of pride and identity and launching courses in cutting-edge fields like data science, AI, quantum computing, space education, astronomy, cyber security, management studies, social work and relevant areas that are poised to define the future of industries worldwide.

Pramod Boro reflected that CIT Kokrajhar was established through the sacrifice of martyrs, making it imperative for the institute to extend its impact beyond academics. He said, ‘I am reminded that over a century ago, Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma’s movement focused on education, social reform, and spiritual rejuvenation. Inspired by this vision, our leaders, led by Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, fought tirelessly for the establishment of institutions like CIT Kokrajhar. This gives the institute not only a unique purpose but also a unique responsibility, he echoed.

Prof. Nishikant V. Deshpande, Board of Governor Chairman of CIT Kokrajhar in his address to the graduating students said, ‘Today we gather to celebrate your achievement. This moment marks the culmination of years of hard work, resilience and dedication’.

Congratulating the students on their big day, Prof. Deshpande stated, ‘As you embark on your journey beyond this institution, many of you will embark on different paths; some of you have secured jobs, others may be seeking opportunities, and some may start your own ventures. Whatever path you choose, I have no doubt that you will succeed. Dream big, for the world is your playground and the sky is the limit, he, echoed

Prof. A. Srinivasan, Director of CIT Kokrajhar delivered the Director’s report and said ‘ I am delighted to share with you that 13 PhD students, 48 postgraduate students, 301 undergraduate students and 102 diploma students will receive their degrees and diplomas today’.
