In recognition of their remarkable performances, certificates of appreciation were awarded


The traditional Assamese Bhaona, Gandharir Abhishap, was staged by journalists of the Gauhati Press Club under the Community Cultural Programme, jointly organized by NEZCC Dimapur and the Gauhati Press Club. The event took place on March 15, bringing together an audience that celebrated Assam’s rich theatrical heritage.
The program was graced by distinguished guests, including Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Saradi Saikia, Gobinda Saikia Borbayan, Ranjumoni Saikia, renowned actress Chetna Das, prominent journalist Gautam Sharma, Vice-Chairman of Assam Film Finance Development Corporation, Alakshya Baruah, Press Club Secretary Sanjay Dey, Professor and cultural analyst Dr. Deepan Das and SNA Awardee & NEZCC Director Dr. Prashanna Gogoi.

The inaugural ceremony was meticulously coordinated by Rituparna Das, a well-known playwright, announcer, and Transmission Executive of Akashvani Guwahati, along with Pallabi Bora, Cultural Secretary of the Gauhati Press Club.
The audience was warmly welcomed by Naba Kumar Bharali, Programme/Media Coordinator, who introduced NEZCC’s ongoing efforts to preserve and promote traditional art forms. The evening’s performances commenced with the soulful Mahapurushiya Gayan-Bayan, followed by the graceful Sutradhari Nach, leading into the captivating theatrical rendition of Gandharir Abhishap.
The production was directed by Dr. Deepan Das, co-directed by Luku Konwar, conceptualized by Rituparna Das, and produced by Pallabi Bora.

As the event concluded, Dr. Prashanna Gogoi, Director of NEZCC, extended heartfelt congratulations to the Bhao-Bhavarias (performers) and the technical team. In recognition of their remarkable performances, certificates of appreciation were awarded, marking the evening as a grand celebration of Assam’s vibrant cultural heritage.
