Book is the best friend of a human being
In a solemn function organised by Dima Hasao Sahitya Sanskriti Parishad, a collection of self-composed Bengali Poems of AFM Ekbal, Headmaster, Lodi High School titled ‘Abhimani Kobita’ was released at Haflong Government College (HGC), Haflong on Thursday.
The book releasing function was attended by Dr Minajur Rahman, Principal, HGC, as the chief guest while Rajat Kanti Nath, working president conducted the meeting.
Among others, Samir Mazumdar, Principal, Govt Girls’ H S School, Zakir Khan, District sports Officer, Bikramjit Choudhury, noted poet and writer, etc were present in the event.

Chief Guest Rahman speaking on the occasion appreciated the poet’s effort to reflect the present day’s society and hoped that this work would definitely bring awareness among the mass. He also said the writer would contribute a lot in the coming days.
Pankaj Deb, Secretary Dima Hasao Sahitya Sanskriti Parishad said to bring out a book requires a lot of contribution and for this, whosoever contributed in this project should be appreciated. He also disclosed that the Parishad has been committed to work for the development of literature and culture not only for any particular community but for all the communities living in Dima Hasao.
Earlier poet and writer AFM Ekbal explained about the book and its contents which were the reflection of his mind with the hope to help the generation to come while expressing concern about the growing lack of interest in book reading. He appealed to the people to make a habit of book reading as it was said ‘book is the best friend of a human being’.
Working President Nath concluding the event appreciated the efforts of writer and also the dignitaries attended the function for their admirable gesture.
