Dr Sukamal Deb, Deputy Chief Executive Officer NEZ in charge, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Govt of India appealed to the youths of Dima Hasao to become an entrepreneur as for an entrepreneur sky is the limit.

Dr Deb who was here at Haflong for an official tour said becoming an entrepreneur is not only helping himself but helping the whole society, he or she can employ many youths. Assuring all help to the youths who wants to become an entrepreneur the KVIC will be helping and guiding them in all aspects. He explained vividly about the flagship programme Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

Sharing his experience about Dima Hasao Dr Deb said there have been tremendous potentialities in the district for the youths to become entrepreneurs but it requires the intervention of good people which was missing here at the same time mentorship is also required because youth cannot be successful entrepreneurs if he or she was not given incubation and mentorship which was missing. He also said how the people of Boro Nianglo took up beekeeping for their livelihood and the KVIC provided support to them. He described how the small rural industry like rice mills, agarbatti stick makers, etc could be a major factor for becoming an entrepreneur.

Explaining the flagship PMEGP Dr. Deb assured that the KVIC would be available 24/7 for helping the youths anyone who wants any help for any entrepreneurship or can contact them directly to the state office at Guwahati.
