The 56-year-old Veteran teacher works closely for the welfare and education of women and children

In a solemn function held at Kali Bari premises in presence of a galaxy of members from literary bodies of Dima Hasao ‘Mero Prayas’ a poetry book in the Nepali language released on Sunday.

The function was attended by General Secretary, Dimasa Sahitya Sabha, Kumud Kemprai, General Secretary, Asom Sahitya Sabha, Niva Dutta Ravi, renowned poet Narayan Chakraborty, President, Nepali Sahitya Sabha Mitre Prasad Upadhyay, Vice President, State Committee Ganesh Jaishi etc.

All the speakers while expressing concern over the reluctance in reading books among the young generation appreciated Laxmi Jaishi for her keen interest in literature etc. They said activities of literary bodies in Dima Hasao though not encouraging but there are some people relentlessly trying to write some good books on various aspects.

The author of the book Smt Laxmi Jaishi Ghimire is a writer, social worker and teacher in an Upper Medium Government school in Haflong, Assam. The 56-year-old Veteran teacher works closely for the welfare and education of women and children. She is a member of the Nari Sangharshan Organization and the Literature Secretary of the Aama Manch under the Nepali Sanskriti Suraksha Parishad of Dima Hasao.
