IMPHAL : Dr. Rameshori Yumnam, Assistant Professor (S-II), Department of Life Sciences (Zoology) is awarded the “CONGRESS OF ZOOLOGY MEDAL “by the Zoological Society of India (ZSI). The medal was conferred at the 35th Congress of Zoology for her “Outstanding contribution in Fish and Fisheries” during the International Conference on “Impact of Climate Change with Special Reference to Challenges and Approaches in Applied Zoology, Biodiversity Conservation, Food and Health Security held on 5th to 7th June in Department of Zoology, Guru Ghasidas Viswavidyalaya (a Central University), Bilaspur, Chhatisgarh.

She is an ichthyologist and leads the Freshwater Ichthyology and Sustainable Aquaculture (FISA) Lab, at Manipur University focusing on freshwater ichthyology, integrative taxonomy and systematics, evolutionary biogeography, biodiversity exploration and sustainable aquaculture in North-East (NE) India and adjoining areas.
