IBSD organised training program on floriculture at Upper Shillong

The activities related to the skill development of people interested in floriculture and strengthening their capabilities

Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Node Meghalaya, welcomed the staff of the Air Force Museum from Headquarters Eastern Air Command for training on “cultivation, propagation, and management of Orchids and other flowering plants” on Thuesday. The training participants were made acquainted with different types of plant species suitable for different areas & seasons and their propagation methods, potting media, and management of plants. This program was organized under the BioNEST Incubator of IBSD for skill development through orchid floriculture.

IBSD Node Meghalaya is organising such activities to inculcate skillfulness among various stakeholders through the utilization of local bioresources in the prevailing Meghalaya environment.

The activities related to the skill development of people interested in floriculture and strengthening their capabilities through training & awareness are supported by the guidance and initiative of the Director, IBSD, Prof. Pulok K. Mukherjee to promote bioresources associated skill development through sustainable utilization.
