Kohima: The 16th edition of Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2023, organized by Mokokchung District Volleyball Association (MDVA), got underway at Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, Mokokchung on 19^th September 2023.

The inaugural programme was graced by Col. Rahul Gurung, Kirti Chakra, Commandant 12^th Assam Rifle, Mokokchung as the inaugural patron. Delivering a short speech on the occasion, he congratulated MDVA for providing a platform where the budding players can exhibit their talents. He went on to add that, all the players can come to this level not only by their sheer hard work and talent but also through the constant support of family. He also encouraged the players to work hard and emulate the legacy of Dr. T. Ao in the field of sports.

Earlier, in the programme, the welcome address was shared by Lakhi Longkumer, Convenor Organizing Committee.  Altogether, 19 teams from the district and outside are participating in this year’s edition.
