There are old saying- Self help is the best help; Cleanliness is Godliness. In tune to these adages, the Department of PHED Wokha division of Nagaland organised an unique contest- Inter Colony Cleanliness drive in all the colonies under Wokha town on 21st September 2019.          

Despite bad weather, Public in huge number turned up in cleaning their respective colony surrounding, clearing debris from the streets, clearing clogged drains and filling up the potholes. The Department thanked all the citizens of Wokha town for the active participation during the cleanliness drive and expressed hope that people will continue to extend cooperation in the near future whenever there are such programmes.

Department Officials from PHED, Wokha were deputed in all the colonies and wards to monitor the cleanliness drive being carried out in all the colonies and sectors which started at around 7:00am in the morning.    

After departmental officials inspected the drive, SUREN Colony was adjudged the cleanest colony followed by Vungoju and GHSS colony. The winners of the colony were awarded with cash prizes along with certificates which was handed over by Er. Beto Jimo, SDO PHED Wokha.This was organised under the ongoing Swachh Survekshan Grameen (SSG) and Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) programmes.
