A Diphu based daily has brought forward an extraordinary issue of land forgery allegedly committed by the land revenue department official functioning under Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council.

The department, which has become infamous for its different kinds of dishonest activities and excessive, shows of redundant or superfluous officiousness; culture has actually increased the misery of common people and has opened avenues for the corrupt employees.

In this incident, Bimal Terang a revenue official (Mandal) has deceitfully transferred land located within the surveyed area of National Highway 29’s expansion plan to a local club from an individual this year. The thumb impression of the landowner who expired in 2012 has been qualified as lawful.

Allegedly Ahina Timung the owner of 6 Bigha, 2 Katha, and 9 Lesa land at Parokhuwa under Dag No. 618, whose asset has been transferred alleged by Bimal Terang Mandal of Phuloni Revenue Circle of Karbi Anglong district in favor of the members of Karbi Riso Nimso Club, located at Parokhuwa. The transfer has been done by forging the land documents of Ahina Timung through the use of a false thumb impression. The legal hare of the deceased has filed a forgery case in Dokmoka police station on the 9th of this month.
