India and Pakistan had signed the Agreement with Pakistan on the modalities for operationalisation of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor at Zero Point, International Boundary, Dera Baba Nanak on 24th of October.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Integrated Check Post and flagged off first batch of pilgrims at Kartarpur Sahib corridor in Gurdaspur, Punjab on 9th November.

Prime Minister took a guided tour of digital installation on life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and the Passenger Terminal Building prior to the inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor.

He also interacted with the 1st batch of pilgrims just before their departure.

Prime Minister Modi echoed ‘The Kartarpur corridor will deepen the connect between lakhs of pilgrims and Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

It is my honour to have inaugurated the corridor today’.

A commemorative coin and stamp was released in the honour of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

At Dera Baba Nanak, Prime Minister Modi took part in the Langar.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) had conferred the ‘Kaumi Seva Puraskar’ to Narendra Modi to which he expressed himself by saying
‘I bow to the venerable Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and place this honour at his feet’
