Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Union Minister of State for Education & External Affairs, launched Japanese and Korean Language courses at the Institute of Foreign Language, Overseas Point, Imphal on Sunday. During the inauguration, Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, who was the Chief Guest of the function, emphasized that Learning about various South-East Asian countries will benefit the youths of Manipur in the coming years.
Delivering the presidential speech Govindas Konthoujam, Minister of PWD/ Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of Manipur, said globalization and the Act East Policy have made the learning of various Asian languages more important today, as it will make us more capable of reaping the benefits of the Act East Policy.
The launching event was graced by Dr L Surjit, President MMTA as Guest of Honour. Various resource persons who were present at the event include Chingshubam Victor Singh, Japanese Language Expert & Hiring Manager at Kyundryl, Park, Minjae, Korean Language Instructor, King Sejong Institute, Dhanamanjuri University, Lee, Hyun Kyung, Korea Foundation Visiting Professor, Department of Foreign Language, Manipur University, Ph. Nandakumar Sharma, President, Indo-Japan Friendship Association, Principal of Nursing Colleges, Masot Zimik, State Engagement Officer, NSDC, representatives from Khongnangthaba University and various Japanese and Korean language experts.
