Recognize and Report Spam, Inappropriate, and Abusive Content

KRC TIMES Desk

At LinkedIn, inappropriate activities or behaviour such as spam, harassment, scams, and misinformation are not tolerated. Professional Community Policies outlines activities that are acceptable on the platform, and what is unacceptable and may be stopped.

What is considered fake, spam, scam or misinformation?

  1. “Fake account” means someone creates a phony profile or impersonates another person.
  2. “Spam” means someone advertises a product for monetary gain or posts irrelevant content for high visibility.
  3. “Scam” means someone asks for personal information or money or posts suspicious links.
  4. “Misinformation” means you believe that it’s presenting false information as if it were true.

What does “I think it’s something else” entail?

“I think it’s something else” means:

  1. “Offensive” means you believe the topic or language is offensive.
  2. “Pornographic” or “extremely violent” means someone displays sexual or gruesome images.
  3. “Harassment” or “a threat” means unwelcome advances or hostile language.
  4. “Hate speech” includes racist, homophobic or sexist slurs, or inciting violence.
  5. “Infringes on your rights” you believe the content includes defamation, trademark or copyright violation.
  6. “Suicidal concerns” means someone threatens to harm themselves.

What is “I think this account may have been hacked”?

“I think this account may have been hacked” means a trusted connection sent a suspicious message, invite or request.

When you report another member’s content, they won’t be notified who reported them, and you should no longer see the content or conversation that you reported in your feed or messaging inbox.
