As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and celebrating women empowerment, 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector AR/ IGAR (East) inaugurated “Rani Gadinliu Vihar” at its unit headquarters in Tamenglong. The newly renovated complex consists of accommodation for Rifle women of the Battalion. Inaugurating the facility, the Commandant led the unit to lit the lamp and paid floral tribute to Rani Gaidinliu. He dedicated the facility to the bravery, will, grit, and determination of women of the region.

The renovated complex will now accommodate up to sixty Rifle women soldiers very shortly. The location of the complex will provide them with a safe private space. It is equipped with basic facilities like water, electricity and attached toilets.

These combatant Mahila soldiers are immensely contributing to maintaining peace and security in the district thus, contributing to Desh Ki Hifazat & Desh Ki Suraksha.

Further spreading the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign among the masses, National Flags were displayed and patriotic songs were played as part of the inauguration ceremony.
