Manipur girl cracks NEET Exam Despite Fleeing the May 3 Mob Attack

Imphal : 18 years old Khumanthem Angelika of Moreh town of Manipur, has cleared her NEET exam and secured 91st rank in the state merit list. The achievement commends worth mentioning as she achieved her goals despite escaping the violent attack by a Kuki mob along with her family members on May 3.

Manipur went into flames after the May 3 incidents and is reeling under a bloody conflict where the Kuki communities are demanding a separation from Manipur .

Angelika, did not lose her focus and refused to be distracted from the traumatic incident and her dream of becoming a doctor is now a reality. After fleeing from Moreh, the family took shelter in a relief camp in Imphal. But she appeared for her examinations with clear determination.

She somehow managed to give the exam from her Aunt’s place in Bisnupur. To make the matter worse Anjulika’s mother, Khumanthem Kamala, is the sole provider for her three children and they lost their income where they used to run a small shop. 

In this ethnic violence, Anjulika’s family lost their business, houses, and property. And the mother Khumanthem Kamala is apprehensive about fulfilling Anjulika’s dreams due to their current circumstances and financial uncertainties.
However, the mother is determined to support her daughter’s aspirations to become a doctor. The whole community has come out in joy and support.
