The camp treated more than 600 patients who are native of Karang Island and some from Thanga

One day free health medical camp was held at Karang Island, Loktak Lake organised by National Medico Organisation (NMO) Manipur Chapter and Seva Bharti, Nagamapal Imphal supported by Volunteers of KIDO, Karang Island and M. Asnikumar Singh, Chairman MDS who is also state spokesperson of BJP Manipur Pradesh attended the camp. The medical and paramedical team was led by Prof AK Joy Singh, Orthopaedics Department of RIMS, who is also the acting President of NMO.

Many renowned physicians of Manipur (most of them from RIMS) were also part of the medical team, namely Prof  Dr. Sachindev, renowned Cardiologist, Prof Dr. Viyas, Neurologist, Prof Dr. AD Sharma Gyestalogist, Prof Dr. Naranbabu Anatomy and other physicians of gynaecologists, ENT, Dermatologists.

The camp treated more than 600 patients who are native of Karang Island and some from Thanga. In the camp, large quantities of medicines were provided free of cost.

The people of Karang extended heartfelt gratitude to the organisers of this remarkable free health camp. Asnikumar Singh expressed at the sidelines of the camp that it was an emotional moment for him, seeing genuine smiles on the faces of many elderly people who were in dire need of medical care.

Finally, on behalf of the people of Thanga, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to RIMS authority for providing huge logistical support(sparing a good number of medical and paramedical staff, ambulance etc ) for the camp. He said, “The people of Thanga will never forget their help in such tough times.”
