A Peace Poster Contest on the theme “Peace through Service” was organized for students up to the age of 13 years

Lions Club of Imphal had observed the 75th United Nations Day at Lions Service Centre, Sagaiprou. A Peace Poster Contest on the theme “Peace through Service” was organized for students up to the age of 13 years. The 1st prize with a cash award of Rs. 5000/- was won by Moirangthem Thoithoiba of Regular English School, 2nd prize with a cash award of Rs. 3000/- was won by Juliana Thoidingjam of Kendriya Vidyalaya Lamphelpat while the 3rd prize with a cash award of Rs. 2000/- went to Tanushree Tongbram of Sishu Nistha Niketan.

 A debating competition for Higher Secondary & Degree level students was also held on the occasion. N. Naoba Meitei of Sainik School, Imphal won the 1st prize. The 2nd prize went to Daisy Longjam of TG Hr. Secondary School while the 3rd prize was awarded to Linthoi Moirangthem of Sainik School, Imphal. The Speaker of the Competition was Dilip Mayengbam, Retd. Head of Programming AIR Imphal.

UN Day is observed on 24th October every year to commemorate the establishment of the United Nations in 1945 after the ratification by the world’s biggest countries.
