Without good Anganwadi centres, there will be no good products in schools and universities

In order to review and asset various development projects and schemes implemented under the “Aspirational District” programme at Kiphire in Nagaland, Union Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, Pratima Bhoumik accompanied by officials from Delhi and Kohima visited Kiphire and held interaction with the Heads of Offices and the district administration at DC’s Conference Hall, Kiphire on 20th September 2022. Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, T Wati Aier in his address highlighted the aspiration delta ranking and informed that the district currently ranks at the 10th position.

The Union Minister of State stressed on the importance of Anganwadi centres and said that without good Anganwadi centres, there will be no good products in schools and universities. She urged that Anganwadi centre should be a learning centre and also mentioned that the workers should be well trained. She also asked the Administration to submit a proposal for setting up a District Disable rehabilitation centre in the District.

During the interaction with the Heads of Offices of the District, Bhoumik expressed satisfaction at the implementation of various government schemes and projects by various agencies and further asked them to work harder so that more beneficiaries are benefited. She also directed the bank officials to make the various schemes more accessible to the people as there are various bank loans and social welfare schemes implemented by the government.

The Union Minister of State said that she has come to Kiphire to listen to and share her concerns about Kiphire Aspirational District. PowerPoint presentations were presented by the departments of Social Welfare, Agriculture, Skill Development, bank, and DRDA. As per the Social Welfare Department records, Kiphire has 21 differently-abled persons for which the Minister of State appealed to the Department to carry out extensive surveys across the District in order to identify if there are more differently-abled persons. Pratima Bhoumik also visited the Kiphire District Hospital and interacted with the Doctors and staff.
