Under the flagship, skilling scheme Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY3.0) by PM Modi in a bid to empower the country’s youth with employable skills MLA and advisor to the Government of Nagaland Mmhonlumo Kikon visited yesterday the traditional and heritage crafts cluster of Dimapur in Nagaland to felicitate and distribute the certificates to the artisans upskilled under PMKVY 3.0 through industry based upskilling program of Handicrafts and Carpet Sector Skill Council by Cane Concept.
Sebastin Zumvu, Chairman, Sovima Village, Jesmina Zeliang, Executive member-HCSSC, and Aku Zeliang, Director of Cane Concept were among the dignitaries who were present during the event.
Jesmina Zeliang, welcomed the MLA Mmhonlumo Kikon and walked him through the Training Centre where approx. 2600 artisans have been trained through Industry based training program and have been employed by the industry subsequently. For the first time, these artisans were taught bamboo-based Christmas decorative products which will be exported to the international market soon.

During his interaction with the artisans and felicitation ceremony Kikon expressed his delight over the magnificent art and skill performed by the local artisans and expressed his wish and will to promote traditional industries based on local art and skill to mark the exponential growth of Handicrafts Industries of Nagaland.
