Celebrate festivals with visions, purpose, and prayers so that we can grow as a whole
Youth Cultural Tapestry was organized on 15th January 2022 during Poanglum Mini Hornbill celebration with President ENPO, Tsapikyu Sangtam as the special guest at parade ground Tuensang.
Speaking on the occasion ENPO President said Erstwhile Tuensang is the mother of all the districts which is now bifurcated into different districts of Nagaland, which means there are responsibilities to Changs as a community. He lauded the wisdom of the elders in moulding the younger generation in preserving cultural and traditional values. With time the villages have become a global village and it is more challenging to preserve our culture and tradition, he said.
He urged the youngsters to celebrate festivals with visions, purpose, and prayers so that we can grow as a whole. While we celebrate, we should not be selfish but help with struggles and problems of others.
Prelude was given by Chendang Students Union, Logdrum beating show by Sangtak Students’ Union, Chishok Lamshok Song by Advisor CCSU, Naset Yemjong, and the story of legends by Ngangpong Students Union and Keynote address was given by President CCSU, Pongso.
Miss Chang 2022 was also organized as a part of Poanglum Mini Hornbill celebration with the theme “Moshikbu Sao”. The special guest of the event was Advocate, Antimang.
Kamjila was crowned Miss Chang 2022. Thontinaro and Kebonaro won the first and second runner-up respectively.
A total of 12 beauty contestants participated in the competition. The subtitle winners were: Hanglenchila (Miss Ethnic), Thontinaro (Miss photogenic), Sungmo Mansa (Miss Talented), Sentinaro (Miss Congeniality) and Hanglenchila (Miss Ramp walk).
Indigenous games competition was also conducted at Thimlak Farm where indigenous Angling and Bamboo Rafting were held with Deputy Director, Fisheries & Aquatic, Dr. Rongsenkumzuk as the special guest. The winners of the indigenous angling were N. Chuba (biggest catch), P.S. Choba (highest catch) and Dowelynn Senti Easter (first bite).
In Bamboo Rafting (doubles), Chongma and Chabou were the winners while Chaang and Chongshen got the second position and the third prize winner went to Peter and I. Toshi.
