The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio expressed his heartfelt congratulations on the successful completion of the 25th Edition of the Hornbill Festival. This year marks a historic milestone as we commemorate 25 years of this iconic festival, a matter of immense pride for all citizens of Nagaland. The Hornbill Festival has elevated our state’s reputation on the global stage, showcasing the vibrant energy, creativity, and innovation of our youth to the international community, while enabling them to pursue their aspirations, he said.

The policy of Partner Countries and States has added a multi-dimensional aspect to the festival, fostering collaborations, partnerships, and developmental possibilities. The Music Festival has transcended boundaries, positioning Nagaland as an international music destination and providing unparalleled platforms for our young talents within our State. Most importantly, our collective goal of promoting, preserving, and celebrating our age-old traditions, rich cultural heritage, and the Naga way of life continues to be strengthened through this event, the CM added.

Rio said, that while celebrating the resounding success of the festival’s 25th edition, it is important to acknowledge the challenges we faced this year, particularly in light of the natural calamities and hardships of recent months. Despite these adversities, several government departments worked tirelessly, completing multiple projects on a war footing in record time. These achievements underscore the immense potential for Nagaland to achieve accelerated progress when all government and supporting agencies work in unison with the same zeal and commitment.

Rio also mentioned that the collective efforts of all sections and numerous agencies and individuals led by the Ministers, Advisors, MLAs, Chairpersons of PSUs, the entire Government machinery under the able leadership of the Chief Secretary and the DGP and leaders of tribal hohos and civil society deserve special recognition, the Departments of Tourism, Art & Culture, Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA), the Home & Police Department, the Agri & Allied, Horticulture and Industries & Commerce Departments have played exemplary roles in making Nagaland shine brighter. We also extend our sincere gratitude to the Army and paramilitary forces, under the leadership of the GOC 3 Corps and IG AR. for their consistent partnership and support. We are thankful to the press and media and media persons across all platforms for the extensive coverage and reportage on the festival. The State and Central agencies of the DIPR, AIR, Doordarshan and BSNL including our local, regional and national media institutions have made appreciable contributions.

Rio also conveyed his personal congratulations and the appreciation of the State Government to all government and non-government agencies, Tribal Hohos, Partner Countries and States, and every group, agency, and individual who contributed to the success of this year’s festival. We acknowledge the contributions of the communities of Kigwema, Phesama and the villages under the Southern Angami area.

Rio also conveyed a special note of appreciation to the leaders and representatives of all church organizations and believers, whose enthusiastic participation added so much value and meaning to the festival. The memorable Devotional Advent Christmas Service was held on Sunday, December 8, 2024. stands as a testament to their contributions. We deeply value their prayers, which have undoubtedly played a role in the remarkable success of this milestone event.

He also expressed deep gratitude to the well-wishers, guests, friends, and tourists who travelled from near and far to celebrate this occasion with us.
