The Department’s programme aims to encourage local farmers to grow coffee to export, promote local entrepreneurs
Inaugural program of the coffee bar, “COFFEE & CHILL” with the theme “Drink What You Grow” under the initiative of District Project officer, Land Resources Department Longleng, and in commemoration of 75th anniversary of Indian’s Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsov), was held on 7th September 2021 at Omega Lodge, Longleng, with ADC Longleng D. Robin, as special guest.
D. Robin in his address appreciated the Department of Land Resources and congratulated DPO Longleng, for his hard work. He encouraged the people to pay a visit in their leisure time and taste the coffee grown in the district. Robin further stated that all officers should work together for the benefit and welfare of the public so that we can have more programs like this in the coming days which would basically change the landscape of our future.
District Project Officer, (LRD) Longleng, Kughalu Chishi, asserted that it is a unique occasion and a new venture in the Longleng district. He stated that the Department’s programme aims to encourage local farmers to grow coffee to export, promote local entrepreneurs, and inculcate the habits of drinking coffee in the state. Longleng now has exceptional coffee equipment with the department promoting coffee plantation and has produced as much as 380 hectares of coffee to date. He assured that Longleng district will be one of the coffee populated districts with a more and better production in the near future.
