Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire inaugurated the daily marketing sheds constructed under the 14th Finance Commission (ULB) at Jalukie town on 28th April in the presence of Advisor, Water Resources, Namri Nchang, and NPF Legislature Party Leader & UDA Chairman, T.R Zeliang.

Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire acknowledged the Jalukie Town Council for judiciously utilizing the funds sanctioned for the construction and also for the quality work being done and further urged the public to maintain & make the best use of it. He also shared his views and ideas for the future overall development of the district. The Advisor expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated daily marketing sheds would go a long way in helping the farmers and local vendors in generating their income.

Advisor, Water Resources, Namri Nchang said Jalukie Town has the potential for further growth and development, for which he encouraged the public leaders to plan for a better tomorrow for the benefit of the citizens in the district.

NPF Legislature Party Leader & UDA Chairman, T.R Zeliang who also spoke on the occasion enlightened the gathering on 33% reservation for women and other policies & schemes of the government.

NZPO President, Kevipelie Iheilung and Addl. Director & HoD, Directorate of Municipal Affairs, A. Chenithung Lotha also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, the inaugural programme was marked by a dedicatory prayer by Rev. Dr. Mongzeung Mpom, Pastor, JTLBC while the programme was chaired by ADC & Administrator Jalukie Town Council, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang.
