The training sessions were conducted by AIFF certified coaches and members of the Nagaland Sport Association
The Election Department Peren, in collaboration with the Nagaland Sport Association, organized a free Football Coaching program for students of Higher Secondary Schools and Colleges on September 4th and 5th, 2023, at the Peren Town Local Ground. This initiative was launched under the SVEEP campaign 2023 with the aim of targeting the young population, educating them on electoral awareness, and involving them in the electoral process.
The program drew participation from 49 boys and 10 girls hailing from three schools, one college, and Peren Town Youth. On the first day, the students received training in basic football tactics, team play, and sportsmanship.
The second day saw the players being divided into teams of seven each, with the top two teams competing in the final match, representing the Chief Electoral Officer and the District Election Officer Team, respectively. The girls also participated in their final match, representing the CEO and DEO teams.
In addition to the football camp, a voter registration drive was conducted on the sidelines for all eligible and prospective electors. The training sessions were conducted by AIFF certified coaches and members of the Nagaland Sport Association.
Keneinguze Immanuel Pienyu, State SVEEP Icon and a prominent football player, addressed the students on electoral education, encouraging them to get registered in the electoral roll.
This two-day camp proved to be beneficial for students, not only in enhancing their football skills but also in raising awareness about the electoral process and the importance of active participation in democracy.
