District administration & Mahila Shakti Kendra Longleng conducted a girl child week celebration under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) on the theme “empowering girls for a brighter tomorrow” at Yingli College, Longleng on 27th March 2021. 

Resource person, Youth Secretary PBCA Longleng, Phakmei Phom emphasized on different values between men and women and encouraged that one should realize the potential of oneself and also get inspiration from other women. He reminded the girls that they are unique and special.

Earlier, an introduction to Girl Child Week celebration was given by EAC Hq. Longleng, Rohbi Sangtam while EAC Longleng, Pichano Kikon encouraged the girls to take such platform as an opportunity to learn and know their rights.

In the 2nd session, different items like singing, dancing, speeches, poem recitation etc. were presented. Games like Puzzle picture, word guessing, picture portrays, tug of war were also played.

The winner of the group games was awarded to “Girl power”. The program was chaired by Women welfare officer MSK Longleng.
