‘We have to move forward where time lead us. We cannot remain stagnant in one place only in this digitalized generation. This is our soil and country; let us all uplift our land by institutionalising our activities’. The Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly Sharingain Longkumer echoed these sentiments while releasing Vision Mokokchung 2040 at ADC Planning Hall Mokokchung on Saturday. The document was prepared and published by Mokokchung District Art & Culture Council (MDACC) and Mayangnokcha Award Trust (MAT) – a collaboration between the Mokokchung town Quasquicentennial Planning & Organizing Committee and the Citizens of Mokokchung.
The Speaker also said that it is a pride that Mokokchung has produced some of the finest personalities and forerunner and pioneered in many fields. In order to continue the trend he called upon all to have a dream/vision which is rightly documented in the book Vision Mokokchung 2040.
He also congratulated all, especially MDACC and MAT for making the document vision Mokokchung 2040 a reality and hoped that the vision will be a driving force to guide and lead the people towards the vision Mokokchung 2040.
Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung Limawabang Jamir in his short speech congratulated MDACC and MAT representatives and everyone involved in bringing the vision into reality.
He also calls upon all the citizens for their involvement because without the active participation of the citizens the vision will be a failure he said.
The programme was chaired by Sentilong Ozukum EAC Hq. A brief introduction of Vision Mokokchung 2040 was given by I. Temsu Jamir Vice President MDACC.
