Nagas are at the cusp of history as a new dawn has begun for a new era of peace, unity and prosperit echoed R.N. Ravi the Governor of Nagaland at the Tokhu Emong Mini Hornbill at Wokha, Nagaland on 7th November.

Highlighting that the spirit Tokhu Emong “SENCHUMTA” which means reconciliation and coming together , Governor Ravi identified that the present situation prevailing in Nagaland co-relate with the theme.

He called on all to overcome the bitterness and bad memories of the past and to come together in the spirit of forgive and forget and make new beginning towards unity, prosperity, development and brotherhood.

Expressing his gratitude for the support received from Lotha Hoho and the Lotha people he appealed to the community for continued support in order to help him bring peace on this land. He reminded that in his own modest way he is working for many years as the Government interlocutor in the negotiation for a peaceful Nagaland.

Ravi pitched that as inheritors of very rich culture and civilization he encourages all to ensure that the rich culture does not fade away with the onslaught of modernity, technology and modern way of life and to continue performing and observing festivals which binds the community together.

Chief Host of the festival, Mmhonlumo Kikon , adviser to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, for ( S&T, IT, New & Renewable Energy) assured fullest support and co-operation to Governor Ravi in the days to come while bringing about peace, unity and reconciliation for the Nagas.

Chief Minister of Nagaland in his online greetings wished the people – ‘Happy Tokhu Emong to the Lotha community of Nagaland. May the post-harvest festival; the festival of gratitute, bring peace, foster brotherhood and goodwill among all sections of the people. Best wishes for a successful celebration’.

Earliar Kikon echoed through a post in social media ‘A time to forgive and bury the hatchet! A time to celebrate the bountiful harvest! A time to thank God for the blessings!The Harvest festival of the Lothas where we also welcome the Amur Falcons into their roosting place -Doyang River!

Attending the festival, a large number of men and women dressed in their beautiful and colourful traditional attire were seen in a festive mood. Performances by Assamese and Sumi cultural troupe were the attraction of the event.
