Total digital transformation of procurement cycle
Numaligarh Refinery Limited, as a part of its roadmap for accelerating digital transformation, has added yet another feather to its cap which has consolidated its concerted efforts in this direction.
Closely on the heels of Independence Day, the Company today launched its Paperless Office Solution for an end to end digitization of its procurement cycle starting from departmental Procurement Requisition, tendering to release of payment to its Business Partners viz. vendors and contractors. The business process was virtually launched by MD NRL S K Barua in a web meeting attended by Director Technical NRL BJ Phukan, Director Finance NRL, I Mittra and Heads of Departments.
Christened AAROHAN, an acronym for ‘ANYTIME ANYWHERE ROBUST OFFICE-SOLUTION FOR HARNESSING AUTOMATION’, the application is built on IBM Business Automation Workflow(BAW) software. The advantages of this application are manifold especially at a time when the Company is encouraging Work From Home(WFH) in the wake of COVID-19 and physical handling of files and documents is being phased out gradually. The application would bring about enhanced security and transparency to the total procurement process, ensure seamless movement of the proposals online, ensure accessibility to everyone in the cycle 24×7, thereby making it the single source of information with all approvals and annexures in one single location.
Though the application is being implementing for commercial processes to start with, the system will eventually be implemented for all business processes of the organization including HR, benefit management and other internal and external processes which are carried out through SAP.
