In the midst of a no-confidence motion presented by the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi captivated the nation’s attention with his ambitious vision for India’s future. He confidently declared that if given a third term in government, India’s economic growth would catapult the country to one of the top three positions globally during the inauguration of Delhi’s revamped Pragati Maidan.
Stating, “Yeh Modi ki guarantee hai (this is Modi’s guarantee),” he sent a resolute message of development and progress to the nation.
Highlighting India’s journey of advancement, PM Modi recalled how the country climbed from the tenth-largest economy at the outset of his first term to the impressive fifth position during his second term. Drawing on this track record, he assured the country that under his leadership in a hypothetical third term, India’s economic prowess would firmly place it among the top three economies worldwide.
Projections by the International Monetary Fund(IMF) support this notion, forecasting India to overtake Germany and Japan to become the third-largest economy by 2027.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also emphasized the government’s remarkable achievements in electrifying railway lines. “In the last 70 years, only 20,000 km of railway lines were electrified. Whereas in the last nine years, electrification of more than 40,000 km of rail lines has been done.
Before 2014, only 600 meters of the metro line were being laid. Today, six km of metro lines are being completed every month,” he said. He also proudly mentioned the significant increase in the number of airports, rising from 70 to nearly 150, as well as the extensive expansion of city gas distribution, now encompassing 600 cities, up from the initial 60.
