Diphu town has become the epicenter of deadly Dengue and the number of infected persons is increasing with each passing day. To contain the further spread of dengue Indian Red Cross Society and the local market committee carried out sanitization in various localities of the town.

The fish market, railway station, bus stand, Matipung, railway station, and nearby areas were sanitized by fire brigade officials, members of the market committee, and officials of the Indian Red Cross Society.

The joint director of Health Service has informed that till Tuesday medical surveillance team has visited 1,597 houses and has reduced sources of Dengue in 5162 places. The special team has also reduced the large number of larva sources. The total number of fever cases is 273 however the number is increasing.

Fogging is continuing in Birla locality, Dharamnala, Matipung, Cremation ground, Rongmarjong, Amlapatty, Rongkangtui, Don-Bosco locality, Rengbonghom, Rongjangphong, Rongmonjir, Christian English High School area, and Rongthe-ang.
