‘Dushman na kare woh kaam dost ne kiya hai: interpersonal issues and coping strategies among the youth’
On the occasion of world mental health day Think India NERIST in collaboration with the All Arunachal Pradesh Psychological Association conducted a workshop on Saturday. The event was presided over by the chairperson and general secretary of AAPPA
The topic of the workshop was ‘Dushman na kare woh kaam dost ne kiya hai: interpersonal issues and coping strategies among the youth’
Psychologists Leeyir Ete and Koj Rinyo used the forum to discuss the significance of mental health and its impact on the physical and social well-being of a person, they further emphasized the need to be more open about mental health issues and de-stigmatize the same. They further added that one should not hesitate to take medical assistance or therapy in case of utter helplessness.
They further took an interactive session with the students of NERIST in the mechanical seminar hall, psychologists Leeyir Ete and Koj Rinyo spoke at length about the different forms of stress, anxiety, and depression, and discussed the measure to overcome them. They also deliberated upon the impact of interpersonal issues like relationships and family problems on a person’s mental health.
Addressing the event, Prof. Madhusudhan Mishra highlighted how a person can’t change their destiny but can change how they act. He further encouraged Think India NERIST to organize more such events as it would be beneficial in spreading awareness on mental health in the state.
