Ramanujan was also known as the “man who knew infinity”
To mark the 125th birth anniversary of the Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan at Starex University Gurugram, a function was organized by the Department of Mathematics. National Mathematics Day is observed on 22 December every year to pay tribute to the famous mathematician Ramanujan on his birthday.
We should understand summation (yog) in arithmetic authenticated in Gita as spiritual mathematics meaning thereby one plus one is equal to one, said Professor M.M. Goel, Vice-Chancellor Starex University here today while speaking on the occasion. Spiritual mathematics is the ultimate music of life for making the Universe harmonious
Ramanujan was also known as the “man who knew infinity”. He made in-depth analysis to solve mathematical problems and equations using new ideas and concepts, told Prof. Goel.
To take care of the needs, adopt minimax strategy (minimizing the possible loss) in business with professional ethics. Maximin regret or minimax criterion states that the decision maker should select the course of action whose worst (maximum) loss is better than the least (minimum) loss of all other courses of action possible in given circumstances, said Vice Chancellor Starex University Gurugram Professor M.M. Goel.
The largest of a set of minimum possible gains each of which occurs in the least advantageous outcome of a strategy followed by a participant in a situation governed by game theory told Prof. Goel.
Earlier Dr. Balbir Singh HOD mathematics welcomed the guests present on the occasion and paid floral tributes to the great mathematician and explained about the magic square which is invented by Srinivasa Ramanajun to B. Sc. (Non-Med.) III – Semester students.
Emeritus Professor Dr. D. R. Agrawal addressed about background and achievements in Mathematics of Srinivasa Ramanujan. Dr. S. L Vashistha, Registrar, talked about mathematics and said he elaborated the importance of mathematics in every stream.
Mr. Lakshay spoke about Srinivasa Ramanujan’s detailed bibliography and elaborated his inventions.
Dr. Richa Chaturvedi, Director Admissions, Dr. B.B. Tiwari, Dean of Commerce & Management and other faculty members were present to pay their tribute to Srinivasa Ramanujan.
Dr. Pranita managed the stage and gave the vote of thanks.
