Rahul Gandhis staff must brief him in more detail about issues he raises. The problem is not that the Agniveer gets NOTHING if he is killed in action( martyred). As the RM pointed out he gets Rs one crore. The problem is not that but the fact that a soldier who is martyred his family gets ;-
Full life pension , Medical cover for life, CSD facilities as also Rs 1.5 crores.
THAT is the disparity. All martyrs who lay down their lives must be treated on Par. Otherwise we violate the Soldier- society covenant which tells the soldier lay down your life if you have to, You dont have to look over your Shoulder. We will take care of your family boy. im sure the nation with 5th largest GDP in the worldwont Be impoverished if it gives the Agnivirs same benefits as a normal soldier if he dies in action.
The Agnivir scheme needs to be reviewed now. Following suggestions:- Increase service Pd from 4 to 7 years. Increase retention from 25%to 60% for infantry and 75% for Technical arms. they have to do long courses for specialisation
If an AV is killed in action benefits be on par with Full fledged soldiers
