“The Indian stakeholders must understand, analyze and interpret Electoral Bond Scheme (EBS) in totality with open minds for needo-governance with transparency by adopting needonomics in Political Funding”, opined Prof Madan Mohan Goel Former Vice Chancellor & Propounder Needonomics School of Thought superannuated Professor of Economics Kurukshetra University. He was speaking in the Online Round-Table meeting on ‘Electoral Bonds in India: Is it Transparent and Accountable in Poll Funding’ organized by the Academy of Grassroots Studies and Research of India (AGRASRI) Tirupati today. His topic was “SWOC Analysis of the Electoral Bond System for Poll Funding in India”. Dr D Sunder Ram Director delivered the welcome address and introduced the panelists including Prof M.M. Goel.
There is considerable scope for improvement in bringing efficiency, sufficiency and equity in the finances, functions and functionaries of political parties which call for becoming street SMART (simple, moral, action-oriented, responsive and transparent) politicians, believes Prof Goel.
We must develop a feeling of oneness as a nation for Viksit Bharat with strengthened democracy as needed, said Dr Goel.
To strengthen democracy in Federal Bharat, the political parties in Bharat must adopt canons of the public expenditure given by Dr B.R. Ambedkar in terms of faithfulness, wisdom of the professionals and economy in execution, said Needonomist Dr Goel.
Needonomics (economics of needs) is capable of saying no to Greedonomics (economics of greed) as the mantra of ethics in politics at all levels in Federal Bharat, believes Prof. Goel.
Addressing the challenges posed by the EBS, particularly in dealing with negligent politicians, Prof. Goel called for electoral reforms to ensure accountability in needo-governance.
