The people of Kamalghat, Jubatara, Lembucherra, Kalapania, Nepalitila, ICAR, Agriculture College, Bhagaban Chowdhury, and beyond will benefit from the construction of this sub-station
The government has given priority to the development of agriculture and industry for the overall development of the state. Development of these two sectors is not possible without electricity. Therefore, the government has taken various steps to develop the electricity infrastructure of the state. Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this while inaugurating 33 KV Lembucherra sub-station and two-storey control room at Lembucherra shopping complex premises on October 13.
6 crore 16 lakh rupees have been spent on the construction of this power substation. The people of Kamalghat, Jubatara, Lembucherra, Kalapania, Nepalitila, ICAR, Agriculture College, Bhagaban Chowdhury, and beyond will benefit from the construction of this sub-station. More than 4000 families in all these areas will be benefited.
Inaugurating the sub-station, the Power Minister said that before 2018, there were only 38 33 KV sub-stations in the state. 23 more sub-stations have been constructed in the last 5 years. 28 more sub-stations will be constructed. The construction of sub-stations will further improve the quality of electricity service in the state. The Power Minister said that by 2030, the state has set a target of generating 500 megawatts of electricity with the help of solar energy. This initiative has been taken across the country to utilize solar energy when the supply of underground natural gas and coal gets exhausted in the future.
GM of Tripura Power Transmission Limited Ranjan Debbarma delivered the welcome address on the occasion. Former MLA Krishnadhan Das, Chairman of Bamutia Panchayat Samiti Shila Das Sen, Vice Chairman Puja Malakar, Chairman of Lembucherra BAC Ranbir Debbarma, Secretary of Power Department Abhishek Singh, Managing Director of TSECL Debashis Sarkar and others were present on the occasion.
